Cave Paintings

First performed by Karl Lutchmayer and David Alexander

at the Warehouse, London, UK, on 5th March 2006 with

photographs by Jeremiah D. Welsh.

1.

Wall and roof formation (with a diffusion

of large and small crystals)

2.

Cave popcorn/broccoli/cauliflower -

clearing to leave the bare wall

3.

Arches and bridges (both complete and incomplete)

drawing in and out of darkness

4.

Abundant small stalactites and larger, but

fewer stalagmites (with water dripping)

Cave Paintings  is based on two Gregorian chants: the first, Out of the

Deep Have I Cried Unto Thee, O Lord, is used to depict the cave wall

and ceiling, and the second, Darkness Visible, the cave formations.
